Title: Participating in the 5th European Conference of Existential Therapies as a Speaker
It is such a pleasure to present some of my work on depression and how there can be a bridge between it and existential psychotherapy.
My work attempts to outline a phenomenological "case study" of depression. Phenomenology, the study of the subjective/ embodied experience, has focused on structures of experience that have been overlooked by conventional psychopathology. I attempt to bring such notions and findings together, connect them with the experiences of individuals with depression, and come up with a phenomenological understanding of what it is that happens in depression.
What does depression feel like? What are the common experiences across individuals with depression?Â
I focus on the experience of embodiment, temporality and intersubjectivity.
FETE (Federation of Existential Psychology of Europe), annually, opens a space where psychologists, therapists, and researchers can come together and discuss work in regards to existential psychotherapy and relevant topics.
Excited to learn from some of the influential figures in the field, present my work and exchange ideas.
