Demetra Korogiannou

After my BSc in Applied Psychology, I studied Clinical Neuropsychology (MSc, University of Groningen) and then decided I wanted a more 'philosophical' rather than 'neuro' insight into the science. I followed with an MA in Philosophy of Cognitive Science from the same university, where I focused on Phenomenology and 4E Cognition (Embodied, Embedded, Enactive, Extended Mind).

I am training in existential psychotherapy & psychoanalysis, and my approach is philosophically informed but also applied in the here and now. In the therapy room, I seek to encounter each person with respect and openness, paying particular attention to those aspects of experience that remain only partially revealed. My approach is always tailored to the person as a whole, and I try to create a space where we can remain genuinely curious about what emerges.

My interest in the field goes beyond the traditional ways of describing, defining, and analyzing the human experience, and I approach mental health with openness, acceptance, and respect. Born and raised in Greece, and living in Groningen for the last 6 years, I provide counseling in English and Greek in my practice, 5 minutes from the city center.
